Samuel “DJ Sammy” Reyes, the Owner and Operator of “Awesome Event Pros” comes from a diverse musical background where he learned to play the saxophone, percussion, guitar and bass guitar at his father’s Church growing up in the Northeast. He studied music in school and grew up playing and touring with his family’s gospel band. His older brother Danny started to DJ when he was a teenager and influenced Sammy to follow in his footsteps. Sammy has always been passionate about music and studied Sound Engineering at San Jacinto Community College in Pasadena, Texas.
After moving to Houston, Texas in 1989, DJ Sammy founded “Awesome Music Entertainment.” The company started as a DJ, Karaoke, and Sound Reinforcement business which mainly subcontracted work from several large Sound and DJ Companies as well as Booking Agents in the Houston area. This remained the company’s primary market for the past 25 years. But as the company evolved, they have added other services such as Up Lighting, Stage and Club Lighting, Custom Gobo Monogram, Photo Booth, Video Projection/Montages, and Dancing on a Cloud. For this reason, several years ago they decided to create the multi-service company called “Awesome Event Pros.”
Their team of extremely talented and passionate event experts have over 50 years of combined experience in music entertainment and event planning, have provided music entertainment services at thousands of events, and been in business in the Houston area for over 25 years.
