Samuel “DJ Sammy” Reyes was inspired and mentored by his older brother, DJ Danny D while living in the Bronx, New York back in the early 1980’s. After serving his country in the United States Army for 4 years, in 1989, he was married and moved to Houston, Texas. He started working for other DJ companies around the Houston area until 1996, when he formally started his own company, Awesome Music Entertainment.
Today, DJ Sammy has over 35 years of experience and has performed at thousands of events as a Professional DJ, Master of Ceremonies, Event Planner and Entertainer. He has earned a trusted reputation with his past clients earning him hundreds of raving 5 Star reviews on WeddingWire, TheKnot, and Google.
DJ Sammy is a proud member of the National Association of Mobile Entertainers and the Greater Houston Area Mobile Music Association, where he has served as a board member for many years organizing many conferences, workshops and symposiums. He co-founded the Houston Hispanic Disc Jockey Association, where he served as Vice-President and helped train/mentor many DJs in the DJ industry. He is also a Member of the Clear Lake/Houston Chapter of Toast Masters International and has taken courses of Randy Bartlett’s “Microphone Techniques,” Scott Faver’s “The Game Master”, Mark & Rebecca Ferrell’s “Love Story”, and Peter Merry’s “The Professional Process”.
When DJ Sammy’s not performing at events, he is a husband and a dad. In his spare time, he loves playing the bass guitar/percussion instruments, exercising and spending time with his family. DJ Sammy is more than willing to share his insights on event planning that has been developed from years of experience and from performing at thousands of events and receptions. His number one goal is the same as yours, to provide a quality entertainment experience that you and your guests will enjoy, appreciate, feel included in and remember for many years.
